Internship Opportunities
The Emma L. Bowen Foundation for Minority Interests in Media
The Emma L. Bowen Foundation for Minority Interests in Media invites you to recommend talented minority students for a spectacular program. Through our organization, students earn cash for college and invaluable work experience.
The mission of the Emma L. Bowen Foundation is to expand minority representation in the media industry. To that end, the Foundation and its corporate sponsors have developed a multi-year internship and scholarship program for minority students. Selected students join a distinguished group of Scholars currently working at media companies across the country. Partner companies hire students to work every summer until college graduation providing both an hourly wage and matching dollars towards college expenses. Qualified candidates must be minority college freshmen, which have, at minimum, a 3.0 G.P.A., and an interest in varying aspects of the media (business, technical, creative).
We are currently recruiting college freshmen interested in summer internship opportunities with ABC- KFSN TV 30 in Fresno, CA, Bresnan Communications in Billings, MT, and Mediacom in Des Moines, IA. I have enclosed a master copy of the application form and additional informational documents for potential candidates. Please feel free to make duplicates to distribute to your students and teachers. Our expected closing date for this program is May 12, 2006.
